There's always a purpose when God does something. He didn't just give us the power of the Holy Spirit for the sake of power. Any demonstration of power through the Holy Spirit is supposed to be for the purpose of being a witness to the gospel of Jesus. When we see the gifts of the Spirit moving, we should be able to use them to point people toward the gospel and what Jesus did.
